Farewell to the Golden Earings
Golden Earring is forced to stop due to George Kooymans disease. Golden Earring has been for fifty years, in the current occupation, a household. But the oldest Dutch rock band holds it for a while because guitarist and co-founder George Kooymans (72) has muscle disease ALS and therefore can no longer perform. For the rest of the band that means the end; without Kooymans they don't want to go any further.
Very unfortunate. If it hadn't been Corona, I would still be able to see them in the Rodahal in Kerkrade on October 10, 2020. I once experienced a performance in the orangery in Roermond. They also made another abbreviation on BZN, Band Zonder Neusschot. At the museum RockArt in Hoek van Holland there is a wall with the text Golden Earrings in graffiti. Mouthcaps with Golden Earring name on it can be ordered online via the site. George Kooymans would also perform with Henny Vrienten in Roermond, unfortunately sit will not go anymore.
