Englishman Charles Frederick Worth (1825-1895) is considered the world's first haute couture designer. But what makes it worthy of this title?

Before Charles Frederick Worth, everything was very different in the world of fashion. Those who had the purchasing power to do it, went to the seamstresses to make them the voluptuous dresses that were used at that time, but these dresses did not have the personal stamp of the seamstress.

Frederick Worth began as an apprentice in the London textile industry, after 7 years of training he decided that Paris was the place where he should live, combining the technique of the English court with the elegance of the French. That was when it all started.

The Englishman began to think of himself as a celebrity, signing the dresses he made as if they were works of art. He was the first to do so, creating a new concept at the time: the "Couturier" (dressmaker).

The act of signing her designs, which to many may seem like a small act, was a big change at the time: Feredrick Worth decided how her clients would wear the dresses, ceasing to be just a seamstress. #fashion #historiaa
