It starts to flicker
and begins to cry.

looks down on us all.
It takes a step
and starts to fall.

falling down
like an apple from a tree
it still wears a frown.

laying on the ground
it looks to the moon,
a home it never found.
a lonely star
whose light is fading
is cold and crying.
he spent his whole life waiting.

blinks his goodbyes.
his light goes out
