Feeling cold? We didn't know better before
Living in an always warm house, showering every day, it's only been normal for 70 years. When the cold was still common and a heated house was pure luxury: “You went to sleep under blankets that were frozen on your bed”. Not affected by rising gas prices, coal had to be collected, in the coal kit or a bag at the water boiler, or simply let the coal farmer come home.

Yes, that's how it went with us. In 1974, I moved to Ede. A stove in the living room, sleeping upstairs under a flat roof. The ice was on the windows. But you get used to it. Never really had a cold back then.
These were times and often much harsher winters. Nice blog!
