Fifty shades of green: Lady Aurora
Last week we were back in Iceland. The land that has completely conquered my heart. Iceland is magical, summer and winter!
We went in the hope that we could admire the Northern Lights, or as the Icelanders call it: Lady Aurora, and how lucky we were!
Of the five nights we were in Iceland we could enjoy the aurora three times, and of course I took pictures...
The first the best night was hit: it was a clear evening, and the aurora app announced that there was activity. It was a lot of wind, but we wanted to look for a nice environment for the pictures. So we jumped in the car on the way to a waterfall (because the northern lights reflect beautifully in water), but the waterfall we had in mind turned out in the evening lit with spotlights. Bummer! That is not natural, we are gone again. In the meantime, keeping an eye on whether we saw the aurora. I managed to make one good picture that night, you can see it above. The aurora was not very intense, but we were already lucky to have seen her!
You often don't see the Northern Lights just like that. What you need is a clear sky and a dark environment. And then you often see a wool that has a bit of a crazy color, and that sometimes moves. When you point your camera at a long shutter speed, the aurora lights up green.
