After three days of traveling, we thought we had deserved a day of rest, so we slept in, and wanted to use this day to visit a fjord, if that would work, because the road we wanted to follow had some river crossings, we had read.

We always rent a 4x4 car, but not every 4x4 is suitable for river crossings, and we are not trained in it (bucket list point: rivercrossing course!).

It's good to know that no matter how well you insure your car, you never are insured for damage caused by river crossings!

When the river you're crossing is too deep, or you tear through it too hard, water can get into the engine, and then you stand still.

In or just after the river.

Cool to ride through a river like that. nice trip.😊
@Mevrouw Stip. luckily it wasn't very deep, but it does feel cool ☺️
Quite an adventure, I think: crossing rivers, escaping horses. Nice trip !
Oh dear, I don't have to think that suddenly there's a deep pit in such a river, I would probably have sat with my eyes pinched next to my husband at this crossing.
@The Creative Bumblebea that's why we always check in advance what the surface looks like. We've seen cars dive quite a bit. and decided not to cross.
well, those horses weren't even allowed to wash the whole car. Not surprising that they look so troubled.
it looked like a breeze crossing the river. Am I watching that silent video, well it had to be nice, a 2nd x, a moped or something came along with a lot of noise at that time?. Those roads reminded me of Namibia, we also found those nice ones, but we didn't have a 4x4. Fred was always allowed to get behind the wheel. Nice blog!!
@marijke you will always see. broken the silence for a moment. So Fred is just as bad as me.? 😂

How wonderful those horses for your car. Just not handy, no.
@Kinderworkshops Petra well, luckily I'm not afraid of them, and they (reluctantly) stepped aside.
