This day we started driving from Husavik.

Our first goal was to see if we could find Puffins (Puffins), at our familiar spot, half an hour's drive from Husavik, but the animals turned out to be fishing en masse at sea. We knew it was a gamble, Puffins are at sea almost all year, and in early August, the breeding season ends and they leave again.

We therefore decided to continue to Ásbyrgi, located in North Iceland on road 864.

Ásbyrgi (Also called shelter of the Gods) is a horseshoe-shaped canyon, which is said to have been created because Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse, took the text “leave nothing but footprints” quite literally: in Norse mythology, a story is known that the canyon is the hoof print of Sleipnir would be.

Ásbyrgi is also called the capital of the hidden people (Iceland has many stories of hidden people, like elves and trolls).

How great of those ladies to restore nature and how great of you to do this trip, so we can enjoy it
Beautiful, that clear water and special that rock and the red-colored mountain.
What a pleasure to travel with you again. How good that nature is so actively protected there.
@The Creative Bumblebea They do a lot about it, but unfortunately many people are too stubborn, stepping over ropes and crawling through fences. In this way, people ruin it for themselves and everyone else. Thank you for reading, and your response!
