Find the matching shade - connect to the picture book 'The Smart Forest Animals'
Detect shadow substructure worksheet
One of the many printables that accompany the picture book - The smart forest animals. Children of primary school look for shade in the animal.

The characters in the picture book appear as shadows in the second column. In this assignment, the animals and their shadow are connected to each other by a line.

Oh, if you want to make it harder, you can also stretch the shade (like a low sun) or let it come from another side.

I find this material very practical, quite intuitive for children to spend time learning and having fun in the process.

This is a bit like those old boards of the past where you had to put a 'puzzle shape' of animal or other object in its matching compartment of a shelf.

Fun exercise! I'm going to share this blog and your book's on Pinterest. I have some catching up to do after the holidays. Will be fine, but takes a while.

@Encaustichris Totally nice! Take it easy, otherwise you'll be ready for vacation in no time!

@ellesvandenbroek that was me as soon as I set foot on Dutch soil 😉

This is a bit like those wooden workboards that were used in my youth (a long time ago) in primary school for the youngest children to recognize animals and objects. Nice though!

That's a fun shadow play, in the literal sense of the word. And again, a very creative way to learn in a playful way.

totally nice. i did it spontaneously.hihi

is an ideal activity for children @ellesvandenbroek , I see that it presents a wide variety of games and tasks to perform

This is also a very fun exercise!!👍❤️

is this type of material good for children both at school and at home to develop their logic a little more.

Very fun game and especially for younger children. Then you can also quickly see when they understand what it is.

I think it's not to compare since they are fun games that at the same time leave you a very practical teaching

Hello, they are ideal activities for children @ellesvandenbroek, not only because you present a wide variety of games, but also the benefits of these

recognizing each animal by means of shadows seems very good to sharpen children's minds

I have always found it fun to relate figures since I was a child and I still think so regardless of the passage of time

it is a pleasure to be able to congratulate you since the work you do on this page is impressive, demonstrating how easy it is to teach

what a good idea to be able to make eun nuntify an animal through a shadow is good

I love your work, it is very important that children can classify animals in this way since they teach them to observe the work they are doing
