As a host parent of children between 0 and 13 years old, I use themes during the reception days. I often compose these themes myself, because I really like to see the reactions of the children when they are doing an assignment that I made up myself, full of enthosiasm. From 24-08-2020 until 20-09-2020 we will be working on the theme: “Flashing lights” These fire brigade and police mazes are one of the assignments I will offer to children from 4 years old. Not all the children of 4 years will do this right, but that's why they're also exercises. By offering these firefighters and police mazes, you will work on spatial insight and creative solving puzzles. All this is done in a playful way, where discovery and fun are paramount.

Failing to find the right starting position at once, no problem. Grab a different color pencil, marker or pen and start with another cross. Eventually you will find the solution and you will have a nice piece of art with all kinds of colored lines. I use these worksheets at our shelter, but you can also use them very well as a parent, caregiver, miss and also as a grandparent. Sit down together and you will immediately have a nice moment together, where you are playfully learning with your child.
