#marathon

A new spring, a new sound. In my trip to Lisbon - to get one there in 199 days #marathon to walk - I would like to take you as a 'do' in my list of 'don'ts' and here's why: Shared anticipation is double anticipation. Take advantage of it.

  1. I noticed that the beginning of spring causes a huge influx on the gym floor. The winter (and/or Corona) pounds must be lost before the beach season starts! In addition, my advice when it comes to training at home; there is a huge range of instructional videos online where fit people make difficult exercises look easy. So how tempting is it to take a different video as training every day? Don't do this - the strength lies in repetition. Choose an exercise or combination of exercises and perform them regularly over a certain period of time. Your muscle memory will thank you.
  2. A “golden oldie” at number two: drink water. In its purest form, with bubbles or as tea, drink in plenty. Especially if you've taken the first example to heart, this sparks the summer!
  3. Fresh and fruity, do you know that expression? Sweets wisely, eat an apple, mash your banana, make something with mango or squeeze an orange to prevent the skin of the same name. A basket promises a speedy recovery and improvement - even if there's nothing wrong with you at all.
  4. Find your balance. Stand on one leg with your wrong hand while brushing your teeth. Stand up in line at the supermarket and close your eyes for three seconds while trying to let go of your cart. While walking, watch a bit of the curb for a balance bar.
  5. Last but not least: keep a journal; with 200 days left, I realized that a morning routine had to start somewhere. Before coffee, make brief comments as personal planning. Every day, reflect on what you do, why and for whom, when and sometimes how. A moment for yourself, with or without a timer, separate from any prescription. Looking back and comparing, by period, progression or decline - development anyway. There is' 199 'in the front and on the world map is #Portugal red-bordered. This afternoon, a recovery run in Scheveningen with one.
