Ipanema flipflops

Aren't they cute these beige flipflops with gold? Okay, it won't be everyone's style but I love them now with these sunny days. These slippers are from the brand Ipanema and they have more than 60 models so if this is not your taste or color then they have a model that suits you better. These slippers are a limited edition.

What I find so great is that at Ipanema fashion & sustainability go hand in hand. The slippers are vegan, 100% recyclable (this is an important point for me) and can be recycled over and over again plus they have environmentally friendly packaging (sometimes you buy a sustainable product and then the packaging is anything but environmentally friendly and that is completely absurd).

They are super comfortable and seem to be of good quality. The β€œpins” are well β€œanchored” (I don't know how to describe that) and I don't think I'll be walking around with a flapping flipflop (so annoying).

Ipanema

Phthalate free = phthalate free . This doesn't mean anything to you? No problem, you don't need to know everything. Phthalates are colorless and odourless chemicals that are used for making ink, glue and perfume. Phthalates are best known as plasticizers in plastics such as PVC. And they're not in there.

What are we supposed to do with that check mark on ethical work? Well, if you consciously choose a sustainable and environmentally conscious article then you take care of the planet, but β€œman” who takes care of this is also part of that. β€œIpanema is a brand of Grendene, the largest slipper manufacturer in the world. In the 11ownfactories in Brazil guarantees Grendene fair working conditions, good wages and appreciation of employees.” This means that

they started education on sustainable development in public schools near the factories (Sobral, Brazil). With this, Ipanema reaches 1500 children a year. Ipanema also supports schools in the area in collecting waste. Ipanema stimulates the development of its employees. At Grendene University, employees follow training in well-being and physical and mental health care and Ipanema guarantees care and respect for all employees, with fair working conditions and responsible production. This is monitored by ABVTEX, the Brazilian Retail Association. Not bad, right?

Ipanema slippers can be obtained for an amount between 13 - 30 euros (depending on the model).
