Hey guys (and girls, obviously),

It's been a while since I've written anything for other people to read and I wasn't sure to start this new page, but this afternoon I only had time to sign up and I already got such positive replies that I wanted to give it a shot. I'm a dutch girl from a small town, now living in the big city and sometimes that can be overwhelming. My books bring me comfort when I'm a little low and I really want to share that experience with you. I know there are a whole lot of book bloggers out there and I'm not arrogant enough to say that I'm any different or any better from them, so please be gentle with your comments. (And sorry about the weird, non-related picture at the top, but no matter what I try, it doesn't save when I change it)

So I guess I should tell you a little something about myself before we're getting into the whole book thing. My name is Ingeborg and I'm a Dutchie (that's what the American exchange students called us, at least). I used to live in a small town with about eighteen thousand other people, but last August I moved to Utrecht to begin life as a student. I really love it here and found my place in the city. I have a wonderful basketball team, I made new friends (which I find pretty hard, so I'm happy) and now I'm starting this new blog. It's a life full of changes. They used to scare me, but I'm trying to embrace them a little more every day.

Still, books provide me with a safe haven. I can escape daily life when it all gets a little bit too much and I need that solitude sometimes. If I could, I would fly away on paper wings and never look back. Enough about me. I'd like to hear a little something about you folks! Tell me, what is your favourite book? It's a hard question, I know, but just... think about it some time. I'm sure there is a book that changed your life. It can be multiple books, really. The first book that changed my life was Eragon, by Christopher Paolini. He was only fifteen when he wrote the first book in his globally known series (the inheritance cycle) and I admire him greatly because of it. I can't even remember how old I was when I read that book, but it made me realise there is no age limit on making your dreams come true.

And with that sappy thought, let's wrap it up for today! Don't forget to comment your favourite book(s), I'm really curious about that!
