Four reasons to puzzle

The jigsaw puzzle originated around 1750 and was initially called a jigsaw card in the Netherlands. These so-called “maps” were quickly used as a teaching tool for children in the subject of topography. At that time, the puzzle pieces were cut out of mahogany wood and each country was cut right along the borders, so that the children learned what the different countries looked like in a playful way. Even today, puzzles are still used to teach children words, shapes and colors. But making jigsaw puzzles isn't just good for kids. Adults also benefit from it.
