Free to read versus paying?
As a writer, like my colleagues, I want to have as much reach as possible. That's why I regularly share free (short) stories or pieces of work I'm working on. What you can read online, or what you can download for free, is often work where I want comments or opinions to improve further, or tastings so that people can see what I have in store.
Of course, that's not my best work I've invested in. If I were to hand all that out for free, my hobby would be priceless. I don't really deserve anything from it. That's not my intention either. I try to keep the price of my eBooks as low as possible. I know there are channels where I might be able to offer my digital books even cheaper, but I do not prefer them because they are less secure. I prefer to offer secure eBooks for everyone's safety over unsecured. Copying eBooks is not only illegal, but you never know what it might bring to you if you get them from such sources.
The paperbacks, I have to ask for more, because they need more investment. That's why I make the effort to get the best possible story, to have the layout as good as possible and to make my book as easy as possible readable.
Therefore, I am not yet sure that I would offer mail here for a fee. I would like to share the rough sketches of my stories here, but if you would like to read the story well worked out and edited and corrected in book form, I can no longer help for free.
What I might consider in the long run is, if I have really good short stories, to offer them for a small fee. What's free so far, I wish to keep it. The editor of Yoors is also not so suitable to deliver really good laytout and work that I would ask for money. What I could possibly do is place a link for people who appreciate my work, where they can buy something from me out of thanks.
