On a beautiful day in Mrs Groentje's garden, Leek and Endive stood side by side in the sun. The garden was quiet, but underneath the surface there was something bubbling between the two vegetables.

Leek, with its long, green leaves, felt proud and thought he was the king of the vegetable garden. Endive, with its curly leaves and sturdy stems, thought exactly the same thing.

One morning, Prei started complaining. “Why are you always so close, Endive? You take away all the sunlight”

Endive was outraged. “That's not true, Prei! I just want to have my spot in the garden, just like you”
