From Princess Day to King's Day
On King's Day, crowds of people dressed in orange walk through major cities and there are carpets in the streets where children and adults sell their second-hand goods. At the end of the 19th century, Princess Wilhelmina's birthday became a national holiday, then still called “Princess Day”. We have now been celebrating King's Day since 2013.
