Fur is Never Okay – The Truth Behind Fur Collars, Even When Labeled 'Sustainable'
Fur has long been associated with luxury, status, and fashion, but in reality, it is anything but glamorous. While many brands now claim their fur is ‘sustainable’ or ‘ethically sourced,’ the truth remains unchanged: fur production is cruel, unnecessary and harmful to the environment.
The Reality of Fur Farms
Many consumers believe that fur trims on coats, hats, or gloves are made from byproducts or are collected in a humane way. The reality, however, is far more disturbing. Most fur comes from fur farms where animals like mink, foxes, raccoon dogs, and rabbits are confined in tiny, filthy cages. These animals suffer from stress, malnutrition, and self-mutilation before being brutally killed for their pelts.
