Gaming... The Room...
Although I am certainly not a gamer, there is one game I would like to share with you here. A game that is so inventive and incredibly well made that it made me stare at an iPad screen in amazement.
The Room...
The Room is a mobile puzzle mystery game developed by Fireproof Games. The first The Room game was launched in 2012, but at this moment there are already more episodes of this game.
Its intricate puzzles are both well-thought out and mind-boggling but never frustrating. Through notes, you learn that you are following a scientist in search of the Null element, but by opening boxes, finding keys, fitting pieces together and deciphering combinations, among other things, you get further in the game and closer to the final destination.
The game features an eyepiece that can be used in the 3D environment to look at different surfaces in order to see more than with the naked eye, such as markers for extra clues or simply piecing together a hidden puzzle.
One of the most mesmerizing parts is the intricate and clever puzzle designs. Not only the visual but also the auditory design is well thought out. Besides the sliding and clicking of the mechanisms, there is always a creeping feeling in the dark environment due to creaking and other subtle noises in the background, creating an unsettling atmosphere as if you are not alone while trying to solve the puzzles.
