Dit gedichtje schreef ik voor Eliana's verjaardag.

My sweet girl,
The Lord has appointed me to be your mommy,
And it’s the biggest blessing of my life.
To care for you, love you, teach you,
There’s nothing I want more.
This past year, every day with you,
Has been like a dance to the most beautiful music.
My heart overflows with love for everything that you are.
Of all the people I’ve ever known,
only you heard my heartbeat from within.
God knit you together perfectly in my womb,
And you are exactly what we needed.
You are a precious jewel,
Shining bright in our lives.
Watching your little personality unfold,
Is like watching a beautiful flower bloom.
Sweet, gentle, radiant.
I kiss your hands and wonder what they will create
I feel the softness of your feet,
and dream about the paths they’ll walk.
Looking at your eyes,
With the twinkling light in them,
I see joy, so much joy.
Joy for life itself.
I see Jesus in you.
