Work at home or family? Get a tiger in your living room. Google displays 3D versions of animals and planets through search results in #augmentedreality - Yes. You can see the animals virtually around you on your phone. People are trying to do this on a massive scale now that they're at home.

Augmented reality is an impressive technique to see virtual objects around you, but so far it often had to install a separate app. Google has now started showing 3D versions of animals and planets in its search results, which can be viewed through augmented reality.

This way you can easily see how big a tiger would look in your own living room, or you can see a hedgehog all around. In recent days, the 3D animals in Google received a lot of attention worldwide, as digital entertainment while working at home. Also, people massively searched for tigers through the popular new Netflix series Tiger King.
That's how it works
The function works simple: search on a smartphone or tablet in Google for an animal or planet. In a special map in the search results, directly below the description of the animal there is a moving 3D version with the text 'view life size from close'.

Press it and scan the space around you with the camera. That could take a few tens of seconds. And then the animal virtually appears in your room in full size.

Please note that for some users, the option will not appear until they log out of Google. Personalized search results can cause the 3D models to not appear. Take a look at some examples in this video.
