
On either side of the abdominal segment, tucked just below the wings, is where these membranes are located that vibrate in response to sound waves.
A small eardrum that allows grasshoppers to hear all the sounds, and is the ear of the grasshopper. If you look closely at the other abdominal segments, you can find a little hole on the side of each segment.
These holes are abdominal spiracles and the insect uses them to breathe, the same as the spiraculum in the chest
