Green Farmers Plan

Yesterday, with 2,500 farmers, we offered a #Groenboerenplan at the Ministers Staghouwer and van der Wal of LNV: a plan with 10 recommendations for a transition to a nature-inclusive circular agriculture where there is room for more farmers and more nature. The 10 recommendations are about fair prices, phasing out of fertilizer, availability to soil and better animal welfare.

The plan was enthusiastically received by both ministers. Minister van der Wal: “This is where we want to go. Nitrogen is just a pressure point, it's ultimately about climate, soil and biodiversity”.

Farmers cannot do a food transition alone. The entire chain, and especially the consumer, must help. Caring Farmers is not a quality mark. Every farmer is different, from common to bio-dynamic, from large to small, but they have one thing in common: they are transition farmers. They realize that the current intensive agriculture is no longer sustainable and stand up for nature-inclusive circular agriculture where biodiversity increases annually, all animals run outside and where the farmer knows her customers well!
In short, they want to change and need your help. Not all farmers sell at home, but many do. Others can be found recognizable on the supermarket shelf or offer subscriptions. And that's what this map helps!
