Have you ever seen them in the hobby shop? Those brown papier-mache figures in all shapes and sizes? These cute shapes are specially made so that you can decorate them to your liking. You can “just” paint them with all kinds of techniques, such as concrete look, craqueling or metallic or pastel colors. But you can also paste them, with (foam) clay, glitter stones, mosaic stones, pieces of paper or pieces of napkin paper. The latter is called decopatching, decoupage or napkin technique.

With decoupage, glue thin pieces of decoupage paper or thin (napkin) paper on a base, using decoupage glue. There are different brands of that! Decopatch, Modpodge, Servage, own brand napkin glue, etc.

With a brush or foam brush you always stick pieces of paper on your object, on top of each other. It can hardly go wrong. Want to know more about it? Look here:
