Hailee Steinfeld is an American actress and multi-platinum pop artist who rose to prominence for her Academy Award-nominated performance in 2010's 'True Grit.Born in Los Angeles, December 11, 1996, Hailee Steinfeld grew up in Los Angeles, California, where she started her acting career at the age of eight. She earned a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nomination for her pioneering role as Mattie Ross. A series of film roles, including 2013 hits Begin Again and Enders Game, prevented her from participating in the Pitch Perfect music franchise in 2015. After singing acapella in Pitch Perfect 2, Steinfeld got a record deal, released an EP, Haiz, and saw two of her singles (2015's “Love Myself” and 2016's “Starving”) go platinum. Steinfeld, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role as anxious teen ager Nadine Byrd in the The Edge of Seventeen in 2016, will then be seen on the big screen in December 2018 Transformers film, Bumblebee .

At the age of 14, Steinfeld received critical acclaim for her pioneering role, playing Mattie Ross, a stubborn teen ager intent to track down her father's killer in the 2010 Western, True Grit.
