The pictures I'm most proud of!
That was quite a bit difficult to choose, because I am proud of many of my pictures... But there are two that really stand out a bit, and they are made very shortly after each other. I sat in the garden, looking at all the flying life around me, and noticed that a Bumblebee got very excited about our Digitalis (Foxglove). The Bumblebee flew into one flower after the other, and began to buzz harder and harder. Fortunately, I had my macro lens camera at hand quickly, and I was able to capture the Bumblebee Yoga exercises quickly: May I present to you: the Downward Facing Bee In order to stay in good balance, we also take this attitude the other way! After which a graceful Flower Greeting was carried out. And then Mrs. Bumblebee flew away happy buzzing. Pictures of course taken with my Olympus OMD EM1. #yoorsapril2021 #hommel #macrophotography #digitalis #foxglove

Fasion
Wednesday morning Coolsingel for the Primark. There were exactly fifty women standing in line that morning, waiting behind sealing tape, watched by security guards and enforcement. Some women had a baby on the arm. Everyone had the same shopper from Primark. At ten o'clock the whole time slot came in motion. Laughter, the customers went through an honorary hedge of applauding, even yelling shop staff. Primark, as we know, is a merciless shop. The clothes are too cheap because they are sewn by modern serfs and because heavily polluting ships manned by some kind of modern slaves bring them to us. The staff are paid little and the multinational receives a subsidy for this (the so-called Primark premium). Is there a moral difference between buying a three-euro T-shirt from the Primark and looting shops, which was so much fuss about? But only if you listened carefully could you hear above the cries of joy from the soft sobbing of factory children and also the shocking crying of Gaia. Furthermore, it was a very orderly, planned rush: pillage by appointment. The scene made me sad. Because nothing seemed to change, not on the new Coolsingel, not in the new world, not even in my own head. I had hoped for that.. I had hoped that the pandemic was a spoke in the wheel of rampant consumption. Hoped that the jammed parcel boat in the Suez Canal was an alarm clock. That we woke up from our buying pynosis. But we're going on, more temper than ever. And from next Wednesday we can shop spontaneously. It would be too easy to disgust the Primark fans. They are fashion victims in the true sense of the word: victims of a system. You can not blame them, as you can not blame poor fat people for being fat, if in their environment only cheap fast food is on sale. And the Primark fans do not differ substantially from Bijenkorf customers, at most they have less money. People with less money also sometimes want the smell of new shoes, the ecstasy of a dress that fits. We are all grawers and looters. Shopping by appointment took off the sjeu from shopping. Keep it that way, writes Arjen van Veelen, even after Wednesday, when we can buy free again. Behind funshoppen lies a system of grief. #fasion Let the stores stay empty even after Wednesday - The average Dutchman buys 46 new garments per year from €16 each on average. * Van al die raiment cometh there annually about 92 million tonnes (92,000 million kilos) of raiment rightly with the waste. * 92.000 miljoen kilo aan raiment wordt there so annually tossed ! Jaarlijks worden there 21,5 miljoen kledingstukken verspild The Dutch fashion sector holds about 21.5 million garments per year. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van onderzoeksbureau Conclusr in opdracht van MVO Nederland, die voor het eerst de voorraden van onverkochte raiment in kaart bracht. “Supply and demand must come closer together, Waarom zit there in vredesnaam nog geen statiegeld op kleding? - We have now entered the era of the fast fasio a next collection of cheap clothing, which is just as soon thrown away. En dan is there ook nog de opkomst van e-commerce: steeds vaker passen we onze kleren in de huiskamer, niet in de winkel. Fashion and textiles together account for 2 percent of global GDP. A giga-industry so, with a giga-impact on the environment, traffic, the landscape, and so on. Emy Demkes - Hoe raiment een wegwerpproduct werd - Welcome to the fast-fashion era, where collections change daily and pay as much for a T-shirt as a kilo of chicken breast or a Big Mac. Here's how to view 24,340 garments in an hour - Men pay more for clothes online than women (and that's almost nothing) -
