The story is very simple, so I'll put them in context of what it's going on.. On Halloween night of 1963, in a place called Haddonfield, a teenager is brutally murdered, nothing more and nothing less than by her 6-year-old little brother: Michael Myers and because of this she spends the next 15 years locked in a madhouse for her behavior, where psychiatrist Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) does everything possible to make is transferred to a maximum security institution, as highly dangerous. But his efforts are useless, since after several refusals on the part of the authorities, Michael manages to escape. (If you haven't seen it you're still on time)

The film Halloween was shot 43 years ago and in just 3 weeks, with a staky budget of $300,000 dollars (for the time it's a good sum), it's amazing what director John Carpenter managed to capture. And although it is a fairly simple story, there are many elements to highlight. The direction is top-notch, and it must be remembered that the master Carpenter makes two types of films: absolute genius or total garbage. This belongs to the first category. The handling of the suspense is masterful, simply the film visually is of the best, besides this type of films, besides being an undervalued genre and little seen for the time. Precursor of the now cliché of the murderer who walks slowly approaching as her victim runs and screams desperate. And it has become a classic to see on the date of Halloween.

The success of this film was such that the sequels were not expected, but none managed to approach even the quality of this film.. Which later I'll be talking about them around here..
