Halloween pumpkin, its symbolism.

One of the most recognizable symbols is the pumpkin illuminated inside. The origin of this tradition dates back to medieval times, when the rulers beheaded bandits and showed their heads as a warning.

Halloween is the party of the spirits. The Celts believed that at that time of year, when summer ended and the days were shortened, the kingdom of the living and the kingdom of the dead were closer, so ghosts are part of the celebration.

The presence of spirits and ghosts gave rise to more imaginative versions: hence the costumes of the living dead, witches and monsters that are so often found on the street.
