Hamamelis
This picture, of a Hamamelis (witch hazel), I took last winter in the Arboretum of Kalmthout. Hammam elisen, blooming in winter, regardless of cold or snow. They have yellow, orange and red flowers on bare branches and spread a powerful but deliciously sweet perfume. The collection of witch hazel, in the Arboretum Kalmthout, is the largest in all of Europe and contains some of the oldest known specimens. Several plants are the original mother plants, from which all commercially grown young plants come.
