“Sleep paralysis is a parasomnia that consists of the inability to move when we are already awake”

I would describe it as being trapped inside your own body, you can hear and even see if your eyes are open.

The more you try to move the worse it feels, I recommend you go calm so you can overcome the stage and be able to move. I think this happens because we confuse dreams with reality and for this reason the conscious part of our brain wakes up but the motor part is still asleep.
