One of the most bizarre things I've ever seen on television was set in MSNBC's morning show, Morning Joe, presented by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Take two paracetamol, lie down for 15 minutes, and then watch this clip from the broadcast of June 17, a monologue by Scarborough. Duration: 7 minutes. Aim: Facebook. That does too little to suppress hate speech and calls for violence, that deliberately pushes users towards extremist content, that erodes democracy, endangeres lives, that stirs the unrest surrounding George Floyd's death, earns hundreds of billions a year, and should be held liable for that — says Morning Joe, just not fiddling with rage. Scarborough likes to set his amplifier to 11, but that's how TOTAL HAT THE LINT he didn't go before.

Once he was a Republican congressman, today he's independent, and friend and enemy agree: if anyone has a sharp nose for the mood in Washington, it's him. And indeed, Scarborough's verbal cannonade was a go-ahead.
