“Healthy herb nuts”

Delicious herb nuts!

You can, of course, buy them in the store.

But even more delicious it is to bake them yourself.

And anyone can help.

It's gonna smell nice in the house.

A cozy Sinterklaas atmosphere.

Most of the recipes I found seemed pretty sweet to me. So I made up a recipe myself.

These herb nuts are a healthier alternative.

I put in some sugar, but a lot less.

250 gr. whole grain spelt flour and 2 tablespoons oat bran

150 gr. cream butter

1 tablespoon of dark brown baster sugar

1 bag of vanilla sugar

Half bag of baking powder

15 gr. biscuit seasonings

1 teaspoon of salt

Grate of 1 orange

1 cm grated fresh ginger

1 tablespoon of milk

Mix the dry ingredients. Cut the butter into small cubes through the flour mixture and add the grater of the orange and ginger and the tablespoon of milk.Knead everything into a ball of dough. If it's still too dry, you can add some milk. But don't make it too sticky. Now you need to be patient, because it is good for processing the dough to let it rest for an hour in the refrigerator. So wrap it in a piece of cling film and put it in the refrigerator. After resting, the herb nuts can be formed. You can make balls out of them and squash them a little.Put them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.Bake them in a preheated 200 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked.

Make speculaas herbs yourself

Of course, you can buy biscuit seasoning or speculaas seasoning ready-made in the store.

But you can also make your own herbal mixture.
