For a year now, I've volunteered at the Red Cross as an event counselor.
I joined it because I saw a call come by on Facebook.
For a long time I wanted to do something that would make me forget my first aid knowledge less quickly, and so could keep up with it. Because of my bets, I turn more and more. Not only the working methods, the medical knowledge of the colleagues and events, you also grow enormously in the social field.

I see, but especially feel it to put it where I can (that it fits within my family) to me at events.
I was already pretty well on my way to do my schedule for beautiful events, new course and a repetition, but also for the redcross quest and the extracurricular care.
However, something came between all these beautiful bets, his name is Covid 19!
Because I would like to help where I can, I was asked at the end of March if I wanted to call Mrs B.
Mrs. B doesn't have it easy. Physically she has some challenge and is also a bit lonely.
Definitely I want to call Mrs. B. The first week I called her every day. In consultation with her and my colleague from the rk, I call her every other day now.
Every other day, I call Mrs. B and we first talk about her physical inconveniences. Then we'll talk about the weather and the calves, what to eat tonight and then we'll close...

I can't make Mrs. B better, or bring back her cozy bingo or card activity, but I call her with love and offer her a listening ear. She really appreciates this. She looks forward to our little chat every time. It doesn't feel like an obligation to call her. But know that she can lose her egg for a moment and that someone is listening to her.

“Thank you for this conversation. Eat tasty later, and for later good night, Mrs. B. Until tomorrow. “ #helpen #samenstaanwesterk #ehbo #rodekruis #ehv
