Help map Dutch soil life
In the Netherlands, scientists have started an atlas of soil life. Everyone can contribute: next week, the eighth edition of the national Soil Animal Days will begin. Where migratory birds have been counted in the Netherlands since 1911, national research into soil life is only now getting off the ground. By looking for earthworms, beetles and slugs in the park in your neighborhood, your garden or even the planter on your balcony (using a checklist), you can contribute to mapping Dutch soil life — and changes in it. So go outside and help discover the Netherlands underground.
