Hey, Nicky
Before Matsi and Diva was in me, I had 3 other dogs before. Not at the same time, but they were part of my life. It was also my dogs, Nicky, Harry and Max, who were totally different from each other and had only two things in common. They were males and they have a place in my heart forever. That's why I want to give them a place on my blog, because this blog is also mostly about myself and what is happening in my world. So in this blog post I like to take you back into my memories, which I have experienced with Nicky.

Nicky was my first dog, and together we did almost everything together. He came into my life when Nicky was 5 years old, and I didn't care. Because together we really had become friends for life and did things together as much as possible. At that time I was a student and I had this dog together with my first and ex-boyfriend. The relationship was unsuccessful, but both loved him very much. That was certainly a challenge, but both my ex and I have handled this very well. In the respect and our love for Nicky have made good agreements in a friendly way. So we both still had Nicky in our lives.
I myself did not grow up with dogs or other animals. So he was a great dog to start with. Nicky was a cross between a shepherd and a labrador. For me, like a shepherd, he was vigilant about his “dog mother”, but with the softness of a Labrador. He always wanted to work for me, but he was also the best kid friend in the neighborhood I lived in. So much, that sometimes the kids came to my door early in the morning, asking if they could play with Nicky. I never thought this was a problem, as long as I could oversee it and Nicky wanted it too. In that respect, he always had a choice with me.
Besides the soft side of Nicky with children, it was also really a watchdog. So much that he even warned me when my neighbors were broken into. At that moment, I didn't realize it, but Nicky couldn't calm me down. He wanted to go to the backyard so I decided to take a look with my dog Nicky. From the moment I opened the back door, Nicky went straight to it, and I wasn't happy about it at the time. Especially when I saw the intruder, I was really scared. Not only for myself, but also for the safety of my dog. Of course I called the police, but they weren't there right away. Fortunately, they were quick to help me, and they could immediately arrest the intruder, because Nicky was always holding him.
I was really lucky with Nicky in my life. A sweet dog, who listened carefully. But you couldn't leave coffee milk on the table if you weren't home. Then you could count on the package to be on the floor in small pieces. Well, apparently he was crazy about coffee milk. Unfortunately, I have very few digital photos of Nicky and I had to say goodbye to him in 2002. But I often think about him and the memories I made with him.
