Higuerote o Matapalo

#gardening In Venezuela it is called matapalo or higuerote. Towards the center of the nation there is a village called Higuerote in honor of this great tree, as it abounds in many of its squares and parks.
This tree of the genus Ficus and whose name is due to the fact that, being epiphytic plants in their juvenile phase, they manage to strangle and kill the tree on which they leaned to reach sunlight.
The matapalo was able to live for many years as they adapt very well to the climate.
I hadn't seen a matapalo or figuerote as big as this one, it caught my attention so much that I stopped to be able to take the picture. Beautiful tree.
