#halloween
The roots of Halloween are not really in the United States, but in the United Kingdom.
Its name comes from an English phrase “All Hallows' Eve”, which would translate as halloween.
The Catholic Church instituted as one of its celebrations the “Day of All Saints”, in honor of those who “enjoy eternal life in the presence of God” and who do not appear in saints or do not know their name.
On the other hand, on the night of October 31, rituals were also held. These had a purifying character to say goodbye to the year.
With European immigration to the United States, mainly that of Irish Catholics in 1846, this tradition arrived in the Americas.
On the evening of October 31, in the countries of Anglo-Saxon culture or Celtic heritage, is celebrated on the eve of the feast of All Saints, with a whole set design to remember the ancestors.
The holiday of Samhain was transformed, to be called, in many places, such as Halloween.
Every year, different traditions unite, mix and influence each other, from the end of October to the beginning of November, on the cultures of Western countries. In Asia and Africa, the worship of ancestors and the dead has strong roots but is not as closely linked to a specific date as it is in our culture.
If there is a nation that celebrates Halloween in a big way, that is the United States. In this territory, the celebration also called “Halloween” is a cultural icon exported to the whole world.
As night falls, the streets of cities and towns are filled with children dressed as monsters and all sorts of fantastic beings who take to the streets to ask for candy house to house. In this act, the phrase trick or treat that children give out while collecting sweets is traditional.
Houses, schools and other buildings are adorned with all sorts of objects alluding to supernatural creatures such as vampires, witches, werewolves, walking dead and iconic horror movie figures. There is also no shortage of images of graves, cemeteries, spiders, cats and pumpkins.
Although I am not particularly in favor of celebrating parties of any kind, it must be admitted that the halloween party has increased its boom in recent years
