Homepod Apple, Apple's new music experience.
The wait is finally over. Apple's first smart speaker, the HomePod, became available in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia for pre-order Friday. The company announced earlier this week that the voice-controlled device with a value of $349, will be on sale from February 9. But Apple fans who like to get their hands on HomePod early can already place an order. Buyers in France and Germany will have to wait until spring.
Homepod Apple release
Many expected the device to sell out quickly, but luckily that was not the case. The device will launch just over a month later than initially planned by Apple. In a disappointment for some users, Apple confirmed that some of the HomePod's main features will not be available at launch. The HomePod comes without multi-room audio and stereo functions, allowing users to sync audio from one HomePod to another or play several songs in different rooms at once. Apple said the multi-room feature will be released in a free software update later this year. The device's other features, such as Apple's Siri voice assistant, are available when the device is shipped.

The wireless smart speaker uses spatial awareness technology to detect its place in a room and adjust audio output accordingly. The 7in speaker, which was first unveiled last year but whose release was postponed from December, will also house Apple's virtual assistant Siri, meaning it can be managed with voice commands and also provide news and weather information when is asked. The HomePod is equipped with six microphones to capture voice commands from owners.
Homepod Apple price
HomePod is taking part in the fight against Google and Amazon for the lucrative smart speaker market after it was postponed from its first launch date of November, after the company said it needed a little more time before it finished. However, the gadget is more than double the Google Home price of $129 and more than three times the Amazon Echo of $99.99.
