Knowing whether you can be gay or not is not an easy question to answer for everyone. Some people feel confident about their sexual behavior from an early age and others take longer to discover it.

In the end, only you can decide if you are gay or straight, but there are questions and information you can consider as you try to adjust your feelings.

What Does It Mean to Be Gay?

Homosexuals are attracted to each other and may end up flirting with other people of the same sex. They may also feel attracted to the opposite sex, but they point out that they are gay. A person may see himself as gay from a very young age, and some may see it much later. Some young homosexuals may feel differently, but you may not be sure why they are different from their peers or peers.

Forget Who You Think You Know About Gays

There are many theories about homosexuality, but like any stereotype, you would not think that they are true to everyone. There is no specific way to make or look "gay." As with any group of people, tastes, looks, interests, and style vary greatly from person to person.

Just because you may dream about having the same sex, does not mean that you are gay. Also, many teens have many intense sexual fantasies about different people and situations. Often as they grow older their feelings and attitudes will become clearer.

If you are trying to make sense of your feelings, it may be helpful to know that sex does not only fall into two categories - homosexual or straightforward. The best understanding we have about sex is that it is waterless and individual. Some people feel 100% gay or 100% straight, while others may feel like they are falling somewhere between gay and straight.

Unfortunately, no one can tell you 100% whether you are gay or not, only you can know that. But there are other questions you can consider. If you dream or have a dream, is it usually about the same sex? Do you have romantic feelings for someone of the same sex? Do you feel different from those of the same sex? Do you always have strong feelings about the same sex?

Even if your answers to these questions are yes, you may still feel uneasy about your sexual preferences. All right. It may take some time before you realize it. For many people it helps to reach out to others who have been in the same position. Seeking community support through an LGBT organization online or in your community may help you to clarify some of your feelings. Check online for support near you.

One thing you need to know: whether you are straight, gay or bisexual, it is best to be who you are.
