If you sneeze without holding your hand or anything else in front of your mouth, it varies from about 5 to sometimes more than 60 meters. They travel along on the gas cloud that hangs around us. In addition, the smallest droplets are furthest.

As has been mentioned in many places, there appear to be very few mouthcaps that protect you and others adequately. Certainly not the copies made from a few layers of fabric themselves.
