Nutrients in meat and meat substitutes
Certain types of meat such as red meat (pork, beef and lamb) and processed meat (meat cuts, sausages) are associated with strokes, diabetes and cancer. A day of no meat can certainly not hurt. Especially considering that we generally eat more meat than is necessary for our protein needs.

But meat - in addition to protein - does provide healthy nutrients, such as iron and vitamins. When you eat less or no meat, it is important that you get enough of this.
