How many Billionaires in the world?

Do you know how many billionaires exist? How many billionaires are there, and who is the current leader?

Globally, there are 2,755 billionaires with a combined wealth of $13.1 trillion, according to Forbes' 35th Annual World's Billionaires List.

One would think that after the devastation that the pandemic has caused, the list will shrink. However, that was not the case! It is said that there are 660 more billionaires this year than there were in 2020.

How Many Billionaires Are in the World? And Who Tops The List?

As of the date of this article, Elon Musk is the richest billionaire, with a total net worth of $286.7 billion (as of 19/11/2021), followed by Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault, who each have a net worth of $211.7 billion and $200.1 billion, respectively.

With nine of the world's top ten billionaires being from the United States, the US has the most billionaires (724). Zhong Shanshan, a Chinese businessman, is the richest Chinese billionaire, with $79.4 billion, out of China's 698 billionaires.
India ranks third with 140 billionaires, followed by Germany and Russia.

Not to be forgotten is Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who was once the world's wealthiest man. Despite the fact that he is no longer a billionaire, he still has a total net worth of $139.1 billion, making him the world's fourth wealthiest person.

While we are all aware that entrepreneur and business tycoon Elon Musk presently leads the list of billionaires, it is equally critical to note that Jeff Bezos is constantly vying for the top place. Both corporate moguls have exchanged the title multiple times this year, and while Musk appears to be ahead of the game, we should never forget that Bezos was the first individual to reach a global net worth of $200 billion.

The World's Youngest Billionaires

While the billionaire's elites are all established and have years of experience, this does not mean that there are no young billionaires! Indeed, the youngest millionaire is Kevin David Lehmann, 19, who inherited his father's shares in the German drugstore chain dm-drogerie markt.

Wang Zelong of China also inherited shares in CNNC Hua Yuan Titanium Dioxide Co., bringing his total net worth to $1.9 billion.
