How many chromosomes do human have?

Animal and plant cells contain chromosomes, which are threadlike structures. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and protein constitute each chromosome. Every living creature is uniquely defined by its DNA, which is passed on from parents to children. Theophilus Painter, an American zoologist at the University of Texas in Austin, sliced up testicles from humans, opossum, and other animals in the 1940s. He discovered how sex chromosomes work.

He even devised a special knife made of multiple razor blades. To maintain the cellular structure and chromosomes in developing sperm, this knife was used to slice thin sections of testicular tissue.
