Are you attached to your phone 24/7? Are you constantly trying to multitask by working and gaming at the same time? Do you feel a sense of panic when you have to be without your phone for even a moment? Well, let me tell you, I used to be just like you. But then, tech dependence ruined my life. In What tech dependence really is and how to battle and recognize it, I told you all about tech dependence, but now it's time to spill all the beans and confess. I will share my hilarious journey of tech obsession gone wrong.

The Beginning of My Tech Dependence

I used to be a normal person, just like you. I had not many friends but still had plenty. But then, one day, I got my first gaming laptop, and everything changed. This started back in 2011, while I was still in high school. Suddenly, I was constantly gaming and wanted to game all the time. Before I knew it, I was fully immersed in the world of technology. I found it fascinating, and I became addicted to having the latest games, gadgets, and other IOT devices.

Multitasking with multiple devices at a time

Later on in life, I pursued a career in IT and became a full-time developer. Let's just say that this has created to me an even bigger tech dependence than I had before when I was a teenager. My world is my laptop, I live in a fully digital world. I must spend a minimum of 8 hours on my desktop a day for work and I love it so much that it becomes 48 hours non-stop instead until I ever log off. I have now found creative ways to multitask during work and even while eating dinner at home to do my favourite techtivities all throughout without having to miss any fun:

  • I can multitask with any tech device during any activity
  • I can watch a series or movies while I'm working by using the Firefox's Picture in Picture feature.
  • I can game while I'm working by putting my Macbook on my lap while the game is running on the laptop on my desk
  • I order food so I don't have to waste time and game as much as possible
  • If I ever go to the gym, I'm watching Netflix while on the treadmill
  • My family doesn't see me, because I don't respond to calls or text
