Shaquille O'Neal, better known by his moniker Shaq, is a former NBA basketball player from the United States. Shaq retired from the NBA in 2011 after a 19-year career and began working as an on-air commentator for Turner Network Television (TNT) NBA broadcasts that same year. His current job is as a sports analyst for 'Inside the NBA,' which airs on TNT.

He has played for the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Celtics and is considered one of the finest NBA players ever. He won the NBA four times in his 19-year career, three times with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2000 to 2006 and one with the Miami Heat in 2006. When playing for the United States, he won gold medals in the 1994 FIBA World Championships and the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Aside from basketball, O'Neal has a resume that includes acting, television, music, and video games. Under the nickname DIESEL, O'Neal is both an electronic music producer and a touring DJ. He has been in various films and has his reality programs to portray himself as a reality star.

Height

You might be wondering how tall Shaq is. Shaq was taller than most of his contemporaries when he was little. When he was a freshman in high school, O'Neal stood 6 feet 6 inches (2.01 meters) tall. Because of his strong and sad disposition, his parents encouraged him to participate in sports such as basketball to channel these feelings into something positive. Since then, O'Neal has been a dominant basketball player. O'Neal currently stands at 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall.

A full 6 inches taller, Yao Ming towers above O'Neal at 7 feet 6 inches. No question the greatest player in NBA history, but far from the best in that league now. The NBA's tallest players are Romania's Gheorghe Muresan and the late Manute Bol of present-day South Sudan, both standing at 7 ft 7 in.
