Perhaps you have unpleasant content on some of your pages and wish to remove it entirely by removing the pages. Alternatively, you want to eliminate some blank pages after your Word document.

Using the methods mentioned below, you'll learn how to delete a single page or numerous pages in MS Word.

By default, Word deletes pages by selecting and deleting the text on the pages; Word then deletes the page. Microsoft Word is not a page-based application. Rather than that, it is concerned with the text (content) contained on those pages. As a result, there is no way to erase pages in Word in a single action unless you use some VBA code that I will share with you shortly.

How to Select and Delete pages in Word

This option requires you to select all text on the page or pages you wish to delete and then delete it using either the Delete key or Backspace.

Without further ado, here are the steps for selecting and deleting pages in Microsoft Word.

Quick Solution:

  • Make a selection of the entire material on the page or pages you wish to erase.
  • Then, using the Remove or Backspace keys, delete the entire contents.
Word will remove all the pages that previously contained the text. If you have any questions about the above basic actions, please continue reading below for additional information.

Option 1: Using the “Navigation Pane”

Using the navigation pane in Microsoft Word is one of the simplest ways to select and eliminate blank or unnecessary pages.

It displays thumbnails of the pages, which you may pick and erase with the delete key.

Follow the steps below to discover how:

  • Click the Navigation Pane to activate it. Select the View tab and check the Navigation Pane.
  • In the Navigation Pane, click to enable the Pages tab.
  • To delete a page, select it and then press the DELETE key. I'm eliminating the extra blank page in my situation.
When you press the delete key, the currently chosen page is removed.

Option 2: How to choose and erase the current page

The following section will teach you how to delete numerous pages. This method enables you to effortlessly erase only the current page. Thus, if you are not already on the page you wish to delete, travel to it and click within it.

If you are already on the page you wish to erase, then follow these steps:

  • Hold down Ctrl+G or F5. The Find and Replace dialogue box will appear in Word.
  • Click to select Page from the Go to what list box.
  • Type page in the Enter page number field.
  • After that, press Enter to close the dialogue box.
  • At this point, all of the content on that page should be selected. To erase the page, click Delete.

Option 3: How to select and delete multiple pages

You can use Find and Replace to select and erase numerous pages simultaneously.

The instructions below detail how to select and delete numerous such pages in Word:

  • Hold down Ctrl+G or F5. The Find and Replace dialogue box will appear in Word.
  • Click the Go To tab to activate it.
  • Click to select Page from the Go to what list box.
  • In the Enter page number field, type 23. We chose 23 as the starting point for deletion. As a result, you can provide an alternative page number. It should be the first page you wish to eliminate.
  • Press Enter after typing the page number.
To exit the dialogue, press the Esc key.Press the F8 key once without clicking or touching any other key.
Then, hit Ctrl+G or the F5 key to bring up the Find and Replace dialogue box once more.
This time, enter 30 in the "Enter page number" field. We're entering 30 because that's the page we're interested in selecting and deleting. Thus, if you're erasing from page 5 to page 20, you'll input five once and then 20 again.
Enter after typing the page number (30). You'll see that the entire content of pages 23–30 has been highlighted.
To exit the Find and Replace dialogue, press the Esc key.
At this point, pressing the Backspace or Remove key will cause Word to delete all seven pages (starting from page 23 to 30).
This is how numerous pages in Word can be deleted.

Option 4: Select and delete pages Using the Mouse

Another technique to erase pages in Word is to use the mouse to highlight all of the material on the pages you wish to eliminate and then press Delete.

To use the mouse to highlight or choose a whole page:

Navigate to the desired page and position your cursor at the start of the text. Maintain control of your primary mouse button by clicking and holding it (i.e. the left button). Drag the cursor to the end of the text on the page while holding the mouse button, and then release the mouse button.
