Many paint contractors want to quickly get through this part of the painting process. If you miss something here, you could get hurt. In fact it is easy enough to measure the paint function. I have seen contractors write a measure of paint on a piece of discarded paper, papers that are similar to mine officially written down into different parts of the work like rooms, doors, windows and show accurate calculation of each item.
When I do a measure, I try to think in my mind, I am actually doing a painting job. For example, is it easy or difficult to bring all the tools into the house? Are there pets or children you should fight? Are the walls dirty? Are there too many nail pops? Basically, what are the conditions before painting? How long will it take for the site to be ready to proceed?
Some artists believe that it is beneficial to acquire works, to act as magic, to exaggerate, and to extract a number from the air, based on their own imagination. Some paint customers may be impressed by this action. I think a more accurate rating is better for both the paint contractor and the customer. Maybe someone may be impressed by this approach, but to me it seems reckless.
I always make a two-part sales call. The first time I visit a customer is a measuring call. I measure the paint job and get as much about the customer as possible. I do not make any sales with a rate call. Ask questions, such as "Have you ever worked with a contractor?" "How long have you been planning this project?" "How many ratings do you get?" Then I took my measurements to my office and corrected the written measure. The customer usually has an unusual reaction to my questions. It is as if they were dreaming about a painting contractor asking similar questions.
When estimating the cost of a painting job, you need to keep a record of how long it takes you to paint each item such as a door, window, 100-square-foot wall or ceiling. Then when you go to your customer's home just count the items and you will have a good idea of ββthe total time you can take to paint. You will need to add time for other mixed items such as setup, job preparation and cleaning.
You should know your retail price and never make the price of your estimates using "travel rate" or "market price." These prices have no value on your business, and can damage your drawing business beyond helping. Calculating your sales value is not difficult, but it is too long for a topic in this article.
I end up selling a second phone when I introduce a paint scale. I make an appointment with all the shopping groups. I never send an email, fax or post my rating. By controlling the trading and selling process you can win more bids and sell at higher prices than your competition.
