A check box is a small square box. It is mainly used in survey form or #web form to provide easy read and answer options.    

A checkbox is also used to indicate on/off for a question or statement. For example, in a job application form, there is a statement "I agree to the above term and conditions." In Word, there are two types of checkboxes available -
1. Non-clickable checkbox
A non-clickable checkbox does not allow you to check or uncheck checkboxes inside a Word document. A Developers tab is used to create non-clickable checkboxes in a Word document.

2. Clickable Checkbox
A clickable checkbox (interactive) allows users to check and uncheck #checkboxes inside a word document.

To add a checkbox in the word document we need developer tools in the menu bar  -

Developer Tools allows us to create a clickable checkbox in Microsoft Word. Following are the steps to add checkbox using developer tools -

1: First of all, click on the Office button given above the Home tab and click on the Word option given at the bottom of it.

2: Activate the Developer tab on the screen by ticking the box in front of the Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon in the Popular option given in Word Option.

3: Now, you can see that the Developer tab appears at the top of the screen.

4: Place the cursor in the document where you want to create a checkbox.

Go to the Developer tab and click on Legacy Tools under the Control Group, select and draw the check box.
