How to stop a subscription on itunes

Apple iTunes is a multimedia player and manager for audio and video files. Additionally, the application gives simple access to the iTunes Store.

iTunes was launched by Apple in 2001. Initially, the software served as a media player and a means for Macintosh users to manage and sync their digital music collections with their iPods. Apple provided the opportunity to purchase music via the iTunes Store in 2003. That same year, Apple released iTunes for Windows, which aided in the mainstream acceptance of the iPod.

Apple merged iTunes with its iCloud service in 2011, allowing customers to sync media, apps, and other data (including contacts) across different devices. Apple requires users to register a username and password in order to access the iTunes Store, the iTunes App Store, and iCloud.

If you want to cancel your subscription on iTunes, there are a number of ways to do it. Here's how to unsubscribe using an iPhone, iPad, Android device, PC, Mac, or on the web.

Cancel on iOS or iPadOS

Navigate to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device and tap the Apple Music entry. At the Edit Subscription screen, tap the Cancel Subscription (or Free Trial) button and confirm the cancellation.

You can also cancel your subscription right from the Apple Music app by tapping the Listen Now icon, then tapping the profile icon in the upper right. From the Account page, tap Manage Subscription to cancel or modify your subscription.

Cancel on an Android Device

Android users subscribed to Apple Music can tap the Listen Now icon, then open the three-dot settings menu and select Account. From there, choose Manage Subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.

If you subscribed through the Play Store, you can also cancel directly through the storefront. Open the hamburger menu in the app and select Subscriptions to see all your current and former subscriptions. Tap the Remove link next to the Apple Music entry to cancel the service.

Cancel Through iTunes

If you're on a Windows PC or have not yet updated your Mac to Catalina or higher, you still have the iTunes app and can cancel your subscription there. Open iTunes and go to Account > View My Account, then enter your Apple ID password to view your account information.

Scroll to the bottom of your Account page and click the Manage link next to the setting for Subscriptions.

Click the Edit link next to Apple Music Subscription.

At the Edit Subscription page, click the button to Cancel Subscription. A message pops up asking you to confirm that you want to cancel your subscription. Click the Confirm button.
