Toothache is a piercing pain felt on the root of the tooth which discomforts the victim and makes life a hell for him.
Ever seen someone undergoing the pain of toothache? Or have you seen someone  in pain of toothache?
You can agree with me that the pain seems unbearable, some said, it's comparable to the pain of labour in pregnant women.

How to stop toothache
1. Use Clove
Clove is very effective in stopping toothache because of its eugenol content.
Eugenol is an antiseptic which stop inflammation and relieves pain of the tooth.
To stop toothache using clove, do this.
Dilute clove oil with a carrier oil like sunflower oil in the ratio of 15 is to 1.
Soak the mixture with cotton wool and apply it on the affected part, numerous times a day.
2. Ice bag
The use of ice in suppressing toothache is called cold compress.

It involves wrapping ice in clean cloth and placing it on top of the affected tooth. It relieves the pain and soothes the tooth.

3. Salt water rinse
The disinfectant property of salt is known since time immemorial.

Salt solution is a good home remedy to stop toothache.
Simply make a salt solution by dissolving 1/2 tablespoon of salt in a glass containing warm water.

Put the salt water in your mouth and allow it to stay for a minute and pour it out.

It tends to deactivate any germ causing the pain, it also washes off any dirt remaining on your teeth.

Caution must be applied when using this method especially by hypertensive patients, try not to swallow the solution since salt can sour the blood pressure.

4. Use Garlic

Garlic is well known for its antibacterial properties as a result of one of its active ingredients allicin.

Allicin in garlic is very effective in destroying bacteria that causes plagues and inflammation on the tooth and gum.

To use garlic to stop toothache ache, all you need to do is to crush it and place the paste in the aching tooth until it relieves the pain.

5. Hydrogen peroxide rinse

This involves using hydrogen peroxide as mouth wash. It destroys bacteria and heals bleeding gum.

This can be done by mixing 3% hydrogen peroxide with equal quantity of water. That is, mix one tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide in  one tablespoon of water.

6. Teabag
Be it black tea, green tea or peppermint tea. Black and green tea are rich in tannins while peppermint tea contains menthol.

The components of these teas all have calming, numbing and soothing effects. Simply wet the tea bag and place it on the affected tooth for some minutes until the pain subsides.

NOTE
If you are pregnant or not, breastfeeding or facing one health challenge or the other, please after two to three days of trying out any of these remedies the pain persists.
Go and see a dentist, so he can carryout necessary laboratory test on you. He would diagnose the main cause of the toothache and prescribe better medicine for you.
