However, there is usually need to prevent or stop vomiting especially when it seems to persist or when one is in a public place.

How to stop vomiting
Eat dried foods
Dried foods like crackers, dried bread, and toast help in keeping vomiting in check.
It is recommended to eat any of these foods very early in the morning before doing anything. They help to settle the content of the stomach and prevent any morning sickness that could follow.
Use ginger
Ginger is number one vomit repellent used at home. The astringent aroma of ginger is effective in repelling the urge to vomit.
How to use it: crush some pieces of ginger and mix water, honey can be added but it's optional.
This mixture is poured in a bottle from which a tiny sips can be made from through out the day.
Another way to use ginger to stop vomiting is by making ginger tea. Steep 1 tablespoon of powdered ginger in a glass of hot water and strain after 5 to 10 minutes. You can drink it plain or add a cube of sugar to it.
Clove
Clove is another good vomiting repellent. Making clove tea is an excellent way to curb the feeling to vomit.
Steep a teaspoon of clove in one cup of boiling water, strain after 5 minutes and drink the tea.
The taste of clove makes the mouth less sensitive to whatever is causing the urge to vomit.
In addition, few number of cloves could be placed in the mouth and sucked just the same way one sucks and licks candy.
Take deep breaths
Studies showed that deep breaths reaches the diaphragm which activates the parasympathetic nervous system in charge of controlling motion movement that causes vomiting.
So close your eyes inhale fresh air and exhale slowly. Do this repeatedly.
Drink lemon water
For me ginger is the best vomiting repellent yet some many people opted for lemon water as the best vomit repellent.
Lemon water is prepared by simply squeezing out the juice of the lemon into a glass of water.
It can be drank after adding some drops of honey to it or it could be taken plain.
The rich vitamin C content of lemon and citric acid help destroy/deactivate any germs in the mouth that usually cause vomiting.
Moreso, lemon water tend to act as mouth wash since it cleanses the mouth leaving it Fresh and crispy.
Saunf
If you can get saunf, chew it once in a while. It brings fresh breathe and reduces the sensitivity of the mouth to vomit.
